Midtown Madness (ver 1.0) Abandonware Sometimes you don't want to build or manage, you just want to have some fun causing total mayhem. Midtown Madness (Microsoft 1999) is such a game. Race through the city of Chicago on any street you want, or even down the sidewalks if the streets are not enough. Bump cars, terrorize pedestrians, and give the cops fits. Lots of vehicles to choose from, including a city bus! User manual = "Midtown_Madness.pdf" ========== To install: Cut one CD [MIDTOWN.ISO]. (Auto)Run the setup program. INTERNET COPY, PID = 50566-442-(seven digits - five digits [changes on each install]) NOTE: The first time you start the software, it will run the "Microsoft Profiler", which attempts to call Microsoft across the Internet. Block this at your firewall. ----- Be aware that the "SafeDisc" copy protection used on Microsoft games is buggy, especially on Windows XP. One manifestation is that often the game cannot properly identify its own installation CD in the drive. A simple solution is to not have the game bother to check for the CD, by replacing the game startup executable file with the one in the zip file: "No-CD_Patch.zip"
