I'm not sure about custom built scenerios yet, but I've had great success with peeps using the cash machine in the scenerios included with the game. Try building them around your shops/food stalls in games with a single price entry, and near your high-priced rides (roller coasters) in pay-per-ride scenerios. I've found that this will enable the peeps to go and spend some of the newfound cash quickly, and since they are most likely to find themselves running out of money after visiting one of these places, they do not have to go far to get more cash, increasing their popularity.

good tips there. also if you charge a high price to get into the park, then build one right at the entrance, so they can get the money out.

I wonder if the amount of cash the peeps enter the park with has any influence on future withdrawals from the ATM machines?

If peeps enter the park with $100, the maximum you can set it to in the scenario editor, can those peeps withdrawal any more money from the ATM machines inside the park?

==================

You may be on to something. I know that if they enter the park with $100 they're not going to need the cash machine right away. That's why I waited so long in the game to start wondering. What I was surprised at was after they had dwindled their money they didn't take any out but left. Maybe by setting them to max they just leave when they are out of money. I think i'll lower the average starting money and see if they will use the cash machine if they run out of money faster.

==================

From my experience, the best place for ATM machines is near very expensive rides and sometimes shops. The logic behind it seems to be roughly this:

A guest wants to ride/buy something. He thinks "I can;t afford XYZ". Then he will wander up to 8 (?) pathblocks towards the nearest ATM machine. If he gets there within these 8 "steps", he will get cash and go back to the ride/shop and do what he tried to do when he ran out of cash. So place your ATMs near places where people are likely to need extra money. Don't place ATMs at hugely crowded areas just because the people are there. If theres nothing to spend money on nearby, they wont use it.

Hope this helps.

Anyhow, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. When you have a pay-per-ride park, try placing cash machines between the exit of a popular coaster and it's enterance. It will keep those peeps going back again and again.

I am having difficulty with some of my park entrances and scenery outside my parks. I noticed that if I place flowers on unowned/unownable land (land outside the park boundary) in the scenario editor, as I play the scenario these flowers slowly die. The flowers inside my park are carefully and dutifully watered and tended by my handymen, but since handymen can't be placed outside the park, they can't water the flowers beyond the park borders. Is this some sort of oversight or bug? The grass doesn't seem to grow or need mowing outside the park. So why do the flowers turn black? Is there a workaround for this, or will I have to rip out all of my flower beds and plant shrubs instead?

==================

There's no way to get your handymen out to those poor flowers, but when it rains in your park they should perk right up. Also, I don't think any scenery outside the park boundaries will affect a guest's enjoyment of your park.

==================

You were right. The flowers do perk up when it rains. I think I need to set the climate on my scenario to soaking! Seriously, just a bit more wet ought to do it.
