I was referring to the problem mentioned in this post and the problems it might present when you go to make a scenario that has you finish building 5 coasters.

============================

DO NOT set the five partially built coasters under a preservation order - to do so will defeat your entire scenario - there are two types of holds on pre-built rides - Dr J and I found this pout in RCT1 when he was working on the SGM. The preservtion list in the Convert Saved Game to Scenario utility will prohibit ANY and ALL modification whatsoever!!!!! Thus, the partially built coasters will never be completed because the game will NEVER allow anyone to do any construction at all on them. Instead - just build your scenario in the editor, select no money, select the complete 5 coasters goal, open the scenario and place 5 partially built rollercoasters in the park (make sure you have chosen 5 types to be available and make sure they have a legitimate chance of reaching the excitement level - in other words don't put a partially built junior coaster in the park and expect people to be able to acheive an excitement rating of 9.50). Save the game with the 5 partials in the park. Use the conversion utility and again DO NOT set the coasters under a preservatyion order. Savce the scenario - Guess what - the game has a dummy-defeat factor - the partially built coaster pieces AUTOMATICALLY get set to can't remove - while the game will then allow a player to add on to their heart's content!

BTW - A WORD OF FURTHER CAUTION - this scenario goal can be chosen ONLY when no money is chosen - that means a few things: (1) Peeps will ciome into your park while you are building - with no money you cannot shut the gates! (2) The park will require automatically that the player keep the rating above 700 while he/she is playing - no big deal but something to be aware of. (3) Research CANNOT be turned off while you are building your partial coasters - JUST be aware of that fact when you are selecting rides for the available/research tree - a GOOD IDEA is to make one or two rides you want available as the first two researchable rides/shops in the scenario - Thus, when you are placing your partially built coaster pieces you won't find yourself researching things you didn't want the player to start with.

I have an example scenario I did a short while ago called Rocky Mountain Park to see how the whole goal thing works - it is a mountain type scenario with 5 B&M partials - I will make it available at RCT Station's projects forums - RCT2 Scenarios - they have an upload function over there.

==============================

What I don't understand is why completing coasters has to be a 'No Money' scenario. It's not that way in RCT1. Take the Volcania scenario for example.

I think this has to be a bug.

==============================

Dave - I don't know why CS did that either EXCEPT that he may have done it because he doesn't allow you to redo the money in the Convert Saved Game utility - maybe this was his way on ensuring that there would be enough money (or rather no money worries) when building 5 partially built coasters.

==============================

Well.... this whole thing is definitely buggy. I just tested what you said Dakin, except I partially built 6 coasters in the park, then converted the saved game to a scenario, then played the scenario.

Which coaster would it let me demolish I wondered?
The first one I partially built
The last one?
The most alphabetic?
The least alphabetic?

Ermmm, how about none of them! Bug or feature?

Now I wonder if I will win the scenario if I complete just 5 of the 6, or all 6?

===============================

How to get peeps, to walk into 4 entrances instead of 2
How can you do it if you only got two peep generating arrows to work with?

===============================

Essentially, 2 of your park entrances are in fact park exits!

===============================

You could put all four entrances down, then split each map entrance path into 2, and have each path lead to a different entrance.
However, peeps will only use the closest entrance, getting there by the quickest route.

============================

When i was just messing around in RCT2 in the scenorie editor i noticed a tab at the bottom of the options box. ("Export plug-in objects with saved games"). My guess is this is the same feature as when we downloaded the Panda objects and they installed when we loaded the scenorie. This lets us export the objects with the scenorie so we dont have to download all the objects.

==========================

I have found what this is all about. Basicly this is how chris made pander world you add the object data file to the ObjDate file in rct2 and when you save a game it saves the data files with it. so if you want all of my objects. All i have to do is save a game with them and give you the save game file. The exchange of saved game files is common so hats of to chris for puting this in the game. From what i have gatherd this will also work for scenarios as well.

I think that chris intended us to be able to make are own objects but did not release it in this version of rct2 mabey we will se it in one of RCT2 add-ons

===========================

There is a limit to only 19 scenery object tabs overall.
