A note about DOS game speed:
Most DOS game designers never expected hardware to advance as quickly as it did in the early 2000s, so they often based game speed on contemporary processor/video cycles. As such, many 20th century action games are almost unplayable on modern PCs. Even many adventure games will have problems, as they often incorporate "undesirable event" features to keep the game moving forward, that also are cycle based.
Although the DOS games being offered here have had speed reducers placed in their "RUN.BAT" file when required, these reducers still might not be sufficient on the latest PCs. In these cases, your best solution to reduce speed would be to play these games on a genuine antique computer (often not practical), or inside an emulator such as DOSbox-X, which can actually create an ideal [Intel DX4] virtual older hardware environment for gaming.
P.S.: It is highly recommended that you have an aircraft-style analog gameport joystick (or emulated equivalent) attached to the PC if you intend to play piloting games.
